Maize or corn is a cereal crop that is grown widely throughout the world in a range of agro-ecological environments. More maize is produced annually than any other grain. About 50 species exist and consist of different colours, textures and grain shapes and sizes. White, yellow and red are the most common types. The white and yellow varieties are preferred by most people depending on the region.

We offer a premium range of finely cultivated, processed and matured Yellow Maize which is non-adulterated and rich in nutrition value. The offered product contains optimum moisture content and is processed and packed using the latest technology.

Myths VS Facts

Myth: Maize is filler.
Fact: Fillers have no nutritional value, and that is certainly not true about maize. A maize kernel is about 80% carbohydrates and therefore a great source of energy. In fact, the carbohydrate portion of maize is over 95% digestible.

Myth: Maize is fattening and sugary.
Fact: An ear of maize has about the same number of calories as an apple and less than one-fourth the sugar. In other words, it can be one of the healthier foods at the cookout! Just remember: while sweet maize is healthy, some of the toppings people like to put on it aren’t. So don’t assume an ear of maize slathered in butter and doused in salt is still a healthy option.

Myth: Cooking maize makes it less nutritious.
Fact: Antioxidant activity, which helps protect the body from cancer and heart disease, is actually increased when maize is cooked.

Myth: Maize has no healthy benefits.
Fact: Sweet maize is loaded with lutein and zeaxanthin, two phytochemicals that promote healthy vision. A midsize ear also offers a helpful 3-gram dose of dietary fiber.

History and Folklores

  • The Indian word â€˜maiz’ means "sacred mother" or "giver over life." Some ancient tribes believed that maize was perilous to be cooked so a woman must warm it first with her breath

  • In India, the ancient people used to sprinkle cornmeal across the doorway to keep enemies out

  • In England and Wales, the ‘corn rent’ was a rent paid in corn or maize. It was a tithe, an annual payment of an agreed proportion (originally one-tenth) of the yearly produce of the land
